Abstract
The data about the role of ifosfamide in the treatment of breast cance r and sarcoma are summarized in the review. Ifosfamide has a higher th erapeutic index than cyclophosphamide. Ifosfamide as single agent in b reast cancer have shown modest activity with objective response rates of between 20-40% depending on the level of pretreatment. Ifosfamide i s one of the most active drugs in the treatment of metastatic soft tis sue sarcoma.
