Hh. Unlu et al., ACTIVE-TRANSPORT DACRYOCYSTOGRAPHY IN EVALUATING LACRIMAL DRAINAGE SYSTEM AFTER RHINOPLASTY, American journal of rhinology, 10(2), 1996, pp. 87-91
In order to evaluate the effects of lateral osteotomies performed duri
ng rhinoplastic surgery on the lacrimal drainage system, a new techniq
ue for imaging the lacrimal passages, Active Transport Dacryocystograp
hy, was applied in a total of 16 patients. In all cases, free passage
of contrast media from the punctum to the inferior meatus was observed
. We did not record any pathologic alteration such as mucosal edema or
discontinuity of the bony structure that would have resulted in nasol
acrimal obstruction.
