In this paper the cylindrical crack problem in the interfacial zone of
two coaxial elastic cylinder under torsional loading is considered. T
he interfacial zone is modeled by a nonhomogeneous layer. The problem
is formulated in terms of a singular integral equation with a Cauchy t
ype kernel. Numerical values of the stress intensity factor and strain
energy release rate are presented graphically. (C) 1996 Elsevier Scie
