The interactive effects of hyperthermia combined with CDDP (1.0 mu g/m
l) or 254-S (1.0 mu g/ml) were examined on the surviving fractions of
human gingival carcinoma Ca-9-22 cells. Both CDDP and 254-S treatment
induced a slight enhancement in thermosensitivity of thermotolerant ce
lls, The development of thermotolerance during step-up heating was par
tially inhibited by simultaneous treatment with CDDP or 254-S througho
ut the heating process. Simultaneous heat treatment at 42 degrees C wi
th either drug showed marked interactive effect.
