Sp. Efimenko et al., EVOLUTION OF THE SUBSTRUCTURE OF HIGH-NITROGEN AUSTENITIC STEEL KH18AG5 UNDER HOT-ROLLING, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (5), 1995, pp. 26-32
The structural evolution during high-temperature deformation of chromi
um-manganese high-nitrogen austenitic steel stable to gamma --> alpha
transformation has been studied. High mobility of twin boundaries is r
evealed. The transformation of network-type misoriented structure to f
ragmented structure is estimated quantitatively and the possible mecha
nisms of this transformation are shown. The boundary migration and the
fragmentation at the boundaries are associated with the preliminary t
ransition of boundary fragments to excited high-energy state.
