Aj. Rosasromero et al., DETERMINATION OF NEUTRAL AND POLAR LIPIDS BY THIN-LAYER CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH FLAME IONIZATION DETECTION, Italian journal of food sciences, 8(1), 1996, pp. 33-39
The separation and simultaneous determination of the most frequent cla
sses of the neutral lipid fraction (hydrocarbons, sterol esters, fatty
acids, triglycerides, sterols, diglycerides and monoglycerides) and o
f the polar lipid fraction (ceramides, monogalactosyl diglycerides, ce
rebrosides, digalactosyl diglycerides, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphat
idyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl serine, lysophosphatidyl ethanolamine,
phosphatidyl choline and lysophosphatidyl choline) of plant and anima
l oils was accomplished by using thin-layer chromatography on Chromaro
ds, flame ionisation detection, and a multiple stage development techn
ique. Data were transformed through an unweighted straight line regres
sion of the logarithm of peak area ratios on the logarithm of the weig
ht ratios. The determinations were reproducible and all statistical es
timates were highly significant. The linear concentration range, slope
and intercept of the calibration curve are reported for each compound
.
