Hz. Ding et al., AN ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTION MODEL TO DESCRIBE DIELECTRIC AGING AND FRACTAL BEHAVIOR, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 29(4), 1996, pp. 1063-1067
An electro-chemical reaction model is proposed in this paper to descri
be electrical ageing of solid dielectrics under ac voltage. The presen
t model has the ability to predict not only the scale-invariance prope
rty of the electrical ageing function, but also the classical electric
al ageing law, i.e. the electric field strength-lifetime inverse power
law relationship. The micromechanisms inherent in the model enable a
direct physical interpretation of the macroscopic electrical ageing be
haviour in terms of the microscopic processes. We argue that the fract
al behaviour of electrical ageing and breakdown processes in solid die
lectrics are by essence determined by the scale-invariance of the elec
trical ageing evolution equation.
