Jl. Zylicz et al., SHELL-MODEL PICTURE OF VIRTUAL DETOUR TRANSITIONS IN CA-41 RADIATIVE ELECTRON-CAPTURE DECAY, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 53(4), 1996, pp. 1593-1598
For the first forbidden unique (1u) radiative electron-capture beta de
cay of Ca-41, a contribution of the gamma/beta detour transitions via
virtual nuclear states to the bremsstrahlung spectrum has been conside
red in terms of the shell model. Calculations of the matrix elements f
or the virtual El gamma and allowed Gamow-Teller beta transitions have
been performed with the use of the Warburton, Becker, Millener, and B
rown interactions. For the effective charge, which describes the contr
ibution of the detour transitions, an interval 0.96<e(eff)<1 has been
found. The model predictions are fairly close to the experimental valu
e e(eff)=0.78. A possible origin of the small remaining deviation is d
iscussed.
