Nuclear quark distribution functions, obtained in the framework of the
multiquark cluster model, show that the Emc effect can be explained b
y taking into account the scattering on colourless multiquark configur
ations in nuclei. The prediction for the behaviour of the nuclear stru
cture function in the kinematical region X > 1, which has not been suf
ficiently studied experimentally, is given. The Drell-Yan cross sectio
ns for lepton pair production in proton-platinum at 400 GeVc-1 and pio
n-tungsten at pion energy 280 GeV interactions were calculated in addi
tion to the prediction of the behaviour of cross-section ratios in dif
ferent kinematical regions. The predictions show significant nuclear e
ffects in these processes.
