Within the framework of the relaxation time approximation we have comp
uted two components of the friction coefficient for various single-par
ticle potentials and have found that the nondiagonal component of the
friction coefficient depends generally on the diffuseness of the poten
tial. The diagonal component of friction, which is related to the two-
body dissipation mechanism, was found to be unreasonably large in thes
e computations, especially for small temperatures.
