Abstract
Partially carboxymethylated cellulose (CMC) st low degree of substitut ion (DS < 0.2) retains its fibrous character, while many of its proper ties differ from those of the original fibre. Cellulose oi modified pr operties can find many applications. A survey about its possible uses and preparations is given.
