C. Nathaniel et al., PSEUDOANEURYSM CAUSING PARTIAL OBLITERATION OF THE LEFT ATRIUM - CASE-REPORT AND REVIEW, Catheterization and cardiovascular diagnosis, 38(1), 1996, pp. 83-86
We describe a case of left ventricular pseudoaneurysm with subepicardi
al dissection onto the left atrial wall, mimicking a smooth left atria
l mass, causing partial obliteration of the left atrial cavity. This p
atient presented with a transient ischemic attack, most likely resulti
ng from a thromboembolic episode to the brain. Emergent surgery was su
ccessfully performed and the patient is doing well at 1-year follow-up
, with no signs of left atrial compression by transthoracic echocardio
graphy. (C) 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
