There is presented a technological concept of the energy saving and lo
w waste method of aluminum hydroxides and oxides production from techn
ical gibbsite being used as sorbents and catalysts supports. Proposed
method should provide high purity products of appropriate phase compos
ition and texture as well as of high mechanical strength. Thermal stab
ility of supports can be improved by addition of alkaline, rare earth
or zirconium oxides.
