Abstract
The US Department of Defense spends the largest portion of its softwar e budget on reengineering and maintenance. The project profiled in thi s article, the US Army's first attempt to improve these processes usin g Cleanroom methods, resulted in greater productivity, improved job sa tisfaction, and a high return on investment.
