D. Comelli et al., CURRENT DENSITIES IN A SPACE-TIME-DEPENDENT AND CP-VIOLATING HIGGS BACKGROUND IN THE ADIABATIC LIMIT, Physical review. D. Particles and fields, 53(8), 1996, pp. 4668-4679
Motivated by cosmological applications such as electroweak baryogenesi
s, we develop a field theoretic approach to the computation of particl
e currents on a space-time-dependent and CP-violating Higgs back-groun
d in the adiabatic limit. We consider the standard model with two Higg
s doublets and CP violation in the scalar sector, and compute both fer
mionic and Higgs currents by means of an expansion in the background f
ields describing the profile of the bubble wall. We discuss the gauge
dependence of the results and the renormalization of the current opera
tors, showing that in the limit of local equilibrium, no extra renorma
lization conditions are needed in order to specify the system complete
ly.
