Am. Macdonald et al., EVALUATION OF THE EULERIAN ACID DEPOSITION AND OXIDANT MODEL (ADOM) WITH SUMMER 1988 AIRCRAFT DATA, Atmospheric environment. Part A, General topics, 27(6), 1993, pp. 1019-1034
Aircraft measurements from the Eulerian Model Evaluation Field Study (
EMEFS) summer of 1988 intensive are compared with predictions of the A
cid Deposition and Oxidant Model (ADOM). Aircraft measurements have be
en compared to surface measurements. Concentrations of H2O2 from surfa
ce measurements were less than those at the base of the profile but O3
, SO2 and NO2 agreed well. The horizontal variability in concentration
over the approximate, area of one ADOM grid square was examined and re
gionally representative values were defined for comparison with model-
calculated values. ADOM simulates O3 relatively well, although it does
not predict the full concentration range. Underpredictions of sulphur
, NO2 and H2O2 are seen aloft.
