Dg. Luchinsky et al., NONLINEAR RESONANCE AND CHAOS IN THE RELATIVISTIC PHASE-SPACE FOR DRIVEN NONLINEAR-SYSTEMS - COMMENT, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 53(4), 1996, pp. 4240-4241
Rim and Lee [Phys. Rev. E 52, 473 (1995)] report relativity-induced re
sonances in periodically driven oscillators. We comment that zero-disp
ersion nonlinear resonance (ZDNR) will occur in some of the systems co
nsidered, outline the physical origins of the ZDNR, and propose an exp
lanation of a discrepancy noted by Rim and Lee between their theoretic
al and numerical values of the energy at the stationary stable points
of Poincare sections.
