F. Llopis et al., A NEW MICROPLATE RED-BLOOD-CELL MONOLAYER TECHNIQUE FOR SCREENING ANDIDENTIFYING RED-BLOOD-CELL ANTIBODIES, Vox sanguinis, 70(3), 1996, pp. 152-156
A new method has been developed to immobilize red blood cells in wells
of microplates using a cell fixation buffer. This method has been emp
loyed for detecting and identifying red blood cell antibodies with gre
ater sensitivity than haemagglutination antiglobulin tests, without lo
ss of specificity. This method decreases the amount of test erythrocyt
es and anti-human globulin reagents employed per test, consequently lo
wering the cost.
