Mtr. Mora, CONTRIBUTION OF CHARCOAL ANALYSIS TO THE STUDY OF VEGETAL PALEOENVIRONMENT IN CATALONIA (SPAIN), Bulletin de la Societe botanique de France. Actualites botaniques, 139(2-4), 1992, pp. 483-493
Charcoal analysis of seventeen archaeological sites in Catalonia (nort
h-east of Spain) gives an approach to the Holocenic vegetation history
for this area. We establish four regionals patterns for the vegetatio
n evolution : interior non continental, north-mediterranean, south-med
iterranean and interior continental. We also notice the effects of ant
hropic action and the ancient distribution of particular species : Ole
a europeae, Fagus sylvatica, Pinus halepensis, Quercus suber.
