Abstract
Beside its function in the coagulation system fibrinogen is known to i nfluence hemorheological parameters. We therefore examined hematocrit, red cell aggregation, plasma and blood viscosity and calculated their correlation with fibrinogen by means of spearman's coefficients and a factor analysis. Regarding the data, fibrinogen showed a marked influ ence on red cell aggregation, plasma viscosity and blood viscosity at low shear rates.
