4-Cyano-4'-n-decylbiphenyl, C23NH29, M(r) = 319.49, monoclinic, P2(1)/ n, a = 15.813(1)Angstrom, b = 5.479(1)Angstrom, c = 23.179(2)Angstrom, beta = 102.2(1)degrees, V = 1963.26 Angstrom(3), Z = 4. D-X = 1.067 g m/cc, mu = 0.569 cm(-1), F(000) = 680, (MoKalpha) = 0.71073 Angstrom, final R and wR are 0.054 and 0.062 respectively using 1281 reflections taken in least squares calculations.
