Abstract
In order to improve the third-order nonlinear optical properties of po lydiacetylenes (PDAs), various types of PDAs with pi-conjugation betwe en the main chain and pendant side groups were synthesized by crystal engineering for solid-state polymerization. It was clearly seen the op tical properties of PDAs could be modified by an increased of pi-elect rons per the repeating units.
