M. Yamashita et al., ANISOTROPY OF OF CHI((3)) OF TIN-PHTHALOCYANINE DEPOSITION FILM, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science and technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals, 267, 1995, pp. 77-82
Third-order electric susceptibility chi((3)) of tin-phthalocyanine fil
m deposited on a boro-silicated glass plate coated with rubbing-treate
d polyimide thin film was measured by a method of THG Maker-fringe tec
hnique. In the resonant absorption spectral range, the maximum values
of chi((3)) of aggregated tin-phthalocyanine were 220x10(-12)esu obtai
ned in the direction perpendicular to the rubbing direction, but the v
alues parallel to the rubbing were 47x10(-12)esu. The large \ anisotro
py of chi((3)) was induced by a preferred orientation of tin-phthalocy
anine microcrystals when anisotropic substrates were heated at 200 deg
rees C.
