Abstract
On the foundation of experimental results of thermokinetics, a general
analog thermogram equation, Delta = alpha te(-k beta t) which can sim
ulate the thermograms of chemical reactions with simple order, has bee
n proposed in this paper. Combined with the basic theory of thermokine
tics, a novel studying method of thermokinetics, the analog thermogram
method, has been developed, The formulae for calculating kinetic para
meter K-n and rate constant k(n), which do not involve any instrument
constants, have been derived, The expression of the cooling constant o
f thermokinetic system has been obtained at the same time, The analog
thermogram method can be applied not only to studying slow chemical re
actions, but also to studying faster ones, In order to lest the validi
ty of this method, the saponifications of ethyl propionate and ethyl b
enzoate in aqueous ethanol solvent, the saponification of ethyl butyra
te in aqueous solution, the substitution of benzyl chloride in aqueous
DMSO solvent, the formation of hexamethylenetetramine in aqueous solu
tion, and the polymerization of acrylamide have been studied, The rate
constants calculated with this method are in agreement with those in
the literatures, and therefore the analog thermogram method is believe
d to be correct.
