Abstract
Synthesis of 1-benzyloxy-2(1H)-pyrazinones having substituents at C-5 and C-6 positions and their photochemical behavior have been studied. Upon irradiation 1-benzyloxy-2(1H)-pyrazinones underwent N-O bond clea vage in high quantum yields. The rearrangement of the benzyloxy group to C-3 position of the ring and [2+2] cycloaddition were also observed .
