R. Etienne et Jp. Larue, EVIDENCE OF A 3RD ORIGIN FOR CLINOPYROXEN ES IN THE ALLUVIAL DEPOSITSOF THE SEINE AND ITS SOUTHERN TRIBUTARIES, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 323(10), 1996, pp. 849-854
The authors propose a new origin for the volcanic minerals located in
the Seine valley and in its tributaries (the Loing and the Essonne). T
he augite comes from the plateaux which have received widespread tephr
a sheets. This third origin does not invalidate the other explanations
for the presence of augite in the Seine basin.
