Abstract
We describe a method for numerically incorporating electron-electron s cattering in quantum wells for small deviations of the distribution fu nction from equilibrium, within the framework of the Boltzmann equatio n. For a given temperature T and density n, a symmetric matrix needs t o be evaluated only once, and henceforth it can be used to describe el ectron-electron scattering in any Boltzmann equation linear-response c alculation for that particular T and n. Using this method, we calculat e the distribution function and mobility for electrons in a quantum we ll, including full finite-temperature dynamic screening effects. We fi nd that at some parameters that we investigated, electron-electron sca ttering reduces the mobility by approximately 40%.
