Vk. Arora et Al. Dawar, EFFECT OF LASER IRRADIATION ON THE RESPONSIVITY OF MERCURY CADMIUM TELLURIDE DETECTORS, Infrared physics & technology, 37(2), 1996, pp. 245-249
A mercury cadmium telluride photoconducting detector has been irradiat
ed with a carbon dioxide laser for a duration of 2-5 sec. The irradiat
ion power densities are low enough and do not produce any permanent ch
ange in the device. It is observed that the responsivity of the detect
or decreases by two orders when it is irradiated by a power density of
20 W/cm(2). The results are correlated with temperature rise of the d
evice.
