T. Josefsson et al., A FLEXIBLE HIGH-PRECISION VIDEO SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL RECORDING OF MOTORACTS THROUGH LIGHTWEIGHT REFLEX MARKERS, Computer methods and programs in biomedicine, 49(2), 1996, pp. 119-129
This paper describes and evaluates the digital MacReflex(TM) system fo
r wireless recording of movements in three dimensions. Up to seven hig
h resolution infra-red sensitive CCD video cameras with electronic shu
tters register the positions of maximally 40 stroboscopically illumina
ted retro-reflective tape markers. The system is equipped with real-ti
me video processors for computation of position co-ordinates for the m
arkers and for optimised data transmission and storage. Data are outpu
t to any type of computer through a standard serial interface, which a
lso provides possibilities for simultaneous A/D-sampling. Dynamic mani
pulation of the recorded signals in three-dimensional plots is provide
d by standard software and transformation and evaluation of recorded d
ata are performed in standard software. The described equipment is fou
nd to offer a flexible and easily operated solution for recording of m
ovements with high resolution.
