Abstract
In this work a semiempirical approximation to L x-ray production cross sections by proton impact was obtained for scaled velocity parameters xi(s) greater than 0.25. ECPSSR ionization cross sections were determ ined and Krause and Scofield atomic parameters were used to calculate x-ray production cross sections. Based on the definition of final vaca ncy distributions of Bambynek et al. (1972), an empirical correction w as made. The corrected values of the x-ray production cross sections a re presented in a table. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
