Abstract
From the microbiological reduction of ethyl 3-oxo-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphen yl)propionate, (+)-(3R)-ethyl 3-hydroxy-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propion ate was prepared on a quantitative scale. The absolute configuration w as assigned by X-ray structural determination of the crystallized camp hanate derivative. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
