Abstract
We report the case of an 84-year-old woman with abdominal pain, disten sion and inferior veno-caval compression due to a large non-parasitic hepatic cyst. She was treated by instillation of tetracycline hydrochl oride into the hepatic cyst. Six months after treatment, the patient i s asymptomatic, with no reaccumulation of the hepatic cyst. We conclud e that symptomatic hepatic cysts may be successfully treated by tetrac ycline hydrochloride instillation sclerosis.
