Cn. Chang et Jf. Cheng, HYBRID QUASI-STATIC ANALYSIS OF MULTILAYER MICROSTRIP LINES, IEE proceedings. Part H, Microwaves, antennas and propagation, 140(2), 1993, pp. 79-83
A new quasistatic analysis of microstrip line structures with multidie
lectric layers is presented, using a hybrid approach that combined the
Galerkin finite-element method and the conformal-mapping technique. W
heeler's mapping function is adopted, which overcomes both the problem
of infinite field extension and the field singularity difficulty arou
nd the conductor edges. Numerical results for effective dielectric con
stants, characteristic impedances, charge distributions, and field dis
tributions for various multilayer microstrip line structures are prese
nted and discussed. Comparisons are also made of the computed results
with the available quasistatic ones, and good agreements are obtained.
