A study of the breakthrough volume (BTV) of isoprene and alpha-pinene
on Tenax TA has been carried out at low mixing ratios volume (0.2 to 7
0 ppbv). At all temperatures considered in this work, the BTV of alpha
-pinene is found to be three times higher than that of isoprene. For e
xample, at 24 degrees C and for a mixing ratio 1.5 ppbv, the BTVs of a
lpha-pinene and isoprene are respectively equal to 17 l g(-1) and 5.3
l g(-1). A study of the influence of the temperature and mixing ratio
on isoprene and alpha-pinene BTVs is reported.
