Mass spectrometric data on the composition of volatile products of the
reaction of beta-chlorovinyldichloroarsine (alpha-lewisite) with ammo
nia in static conditions at a high temperature were compared with the
results of the thermodynamic calculation. The observed agreement betwe
en calculation and experiment allowed these results to be used for det
ermining the optimal conditions of formation and isolation of condense
d reaction products (As, NH4Cl) in utilization of lewisite.
