Abstract
The dynamics of a model foam in constrictive flow have been studied by diffusing-wave spectroscopy. Below a threshold strain rate the rate a t which elementary strain-induced rearrangements occur in the foam dep ends only on the strain, whereas above this threshold the rate is simp ly proportional to strain rate. A possible mechanism for the unexpecte d behaviour at low strain rates is outlined.
