Abstract
When a magnetic field is perpendicular to the c axis of a layered high -T(c) superconductor the phenomenon of flux-chain buckling near twin p lanes has been found. Both numerical simulation and an analytical appr oach based on vortex-lattice instability give similar conclusions. The period of the buckled structure is estimated and results are in quali tative agreement with experimental observations.
