Tbm. Niazi, VOLAR PERILUNATE DISLOCATION OF THE CARPUS - A CASE-REPORT AND ELUCIDATION OF ITS MECHANISM OF OCCURRENCE, Injury, 27(3), 1996, pp. 209-211
Perilunate dislocation is a rare injury. The dorsal type, in which the
distal row of the carpus displaces posterior to the lunate, is more c
ommon; the volar dislocation of the carpus on the lunate is an extreme
ly rare injury. In addition to a case report of this rare injury, a pr
obable mechanism is described with cadaveric studies. The proposed mec
hanism, to the author's best knowledge, has not been reported or recog
nized in the English literature, previously. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevi
