Abstract
Acanthosis nigricans is associated with many diseases, including inter nal malignancies, genetic disorders, and endocrine abnormalities. Insu lin resistance frequently accompanies endocrine-associated acanthosis nigricans. We describe a patient with acanthosis nigricans associated with hyperandrogenism and extreme insulin resistance that spontaneousl y resolved after a marked decrease in insulin receptor antibodies.
