Abstract
The physiological and the pathophysiological basis of unvariant pulsat ile administration of gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) as well a s the clinical results are reviewed. Pulsatile administration of GnRH not only proved to be a very effective treatment mode but also became an important tool for research in the central control of pituitary and ovarian function under normal and disease conditions.
