Abstract
Spontaneous pattern formation in a nematic liquid crystal for the sing le feedback mirror arrangement is simulated expicitly taking into acco unt reorientational dynamics using a discrete form of the Eriksen-Lesl ie Equation. The light propagation is calculated within the framework of Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction theory. A rich diversity of dynamic behaviour is found and compared with experimental observations.
