The authors have recently explored the use of novel concentration sens
ors for detecting and localizing vapor-emitting sources. In the presen
t correspondence we propose to replace stationary sensors by moving se
nsors, thus gaining the following two advantages. 1) A single moving s
ensor can accomplish the task of an array of stationary sensors by exp
loiting spatial and temporal diversity. 2) The sensor motion can be pl
anned in real time to optimize localization performance.
