M. Sugita et al., SLEEVE SUPERIOR SEGMENTECTOMY OF THE RIGHT LOWER LOBE FOR ENDOBRONCHIAL NEURINOMA - REPORT OF A CASE, Respiration, 63(3), 1996, pp. 191-194
A 30-year-old woman was found to have an obstructive intrapulmonary tu
mor at the right intermediate bronchus which caused atelectases of bot
h right middle and lower lobes. The diagnosis of endobronchial neurino
ma was made by bronchofiberscopic biopsy. Since the tumor was benign,
we considered an operative procedure which would enable both complete
resection of the tumor and preservation of the pulmonary function. By
utilizing the techniques of sleeve superior segmentectomy of the right
lower lobe and telescoping bronchial anastomosis, both objectives wer
e achieved.
