Abstract
A photometry method for analysis of yttrium and rare-earth elements (R EEs) is described; the method is based on measurement of light absorpt ion in complexes formed by yttrium and REEs with Arsenate III at pH 1. 8. Ca, Mg, Ba, Sr, Al, Mn, Mo, Pb, Cr, Zn, Cd, Ni, Co, chloride, sulfa te, nitrate, and phosphate ions do not interfere with the determinatio n of Y and REEs. Copper and bismuth are masked by thiourea, and iron(I II) is reduced by hydroxylamine hydrochloride. The detection limit for yttrium and REEs in air samples of 50 - 100 filer is 0.01 mg/m(3). Th e range for concentration determination is 0.01 - 0.5 mg/m(3). The tim e of analysis is 3 h. The relative standard deviation of a single resu lt does not exceed 0.12.
