An analog model (using an EI-12 electronic integrator as an example) a
nd a procedure for determining the equivalent thermal conductivity coe
fficient of dense rolls of sheet steel in the radial direction when th
ermaling in a bell-type electric furnace with forced circulation of a
protective atmosphere are described. First, fictitious values of therm
al conductivity coefficients are determined under the condition of uni
form distribution of the protective gas over the convection rings of i
ndividual rolls, and then the actual values are determined after redis
tribution of the volumes of the protective gas circulating in the conv
ection rings proportionally to the change in the values of the fictiti
ous thermal conductivity coefficients.
