Abstract
The failure mechanism in PETP films with one-sided and two-sided metal coatings (stainless steel and aluminum) is studied, A circular membra ne distension method is used to test films for biaxial tension under s tatic and cyclic load, The kinetics of cracking of metal coatings subj ected to static tension or fatigue can be controlled experimentally by measuring light transmission.
