Abstract
4,6-Dimethoxy-2,3-diphenylindole 1 undergoes reaction with the 3-subst ituted indolin-2-ones 7,8,11-14 and either phosphoryl chloride or trif lic anhydride to give the 2,7'-biindolyl 16, the 7,7': 2,7'-terindolyl s 19, 20 and the 7,7'-biindolyl 23. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Scienc e Ltd
