Abstract
By comparing with the original deterministic R6, this paper proposes a new probabilistic assessment method for the integrity of structures b ased on the R6 principle. With this probabilistic R6, we can easily ob tain the absolute failure probability that we can use to evaluate the integrity of a structure. With the help of a sensitivity study, a prac tical and reasonable decision-making process can be derived for design , material selection, manufacture, operation, inspection, etc. Copyrig ht (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
