Abstract
I accurately calculate local resistance (which relates the local volta ge V to a conserved total current I) and nonlocal conductivity (which relates the current density to V, and thus to I). I reduce them to the equilibrium properties of a resistor. The formulas are valid for arbi trary dimensionality, scattering, external magnetic field, resistor bo undaries, and leads.
