The properties of optical and electrical signals are measured and anal
yzed of the Self-Quenching Streamer (SQS) mode. In the SQS coexistence
region, both the light output of the streamer and the charge amplitud
e increase in linearity with the counter anode high voltage. It is als
o demonstrated that the light output of the streamer in an SQS avalanc
he is proportional to the charges induced, and that the threshold volt
age rises in linearity as the content of the quenching gas increases.
